Project Manager/Project Engineer
An opportunity exists for a Project Manager/Project Engineer in the engineering department to participate in the project execution and delivery of engineering activities, relating to the generation of a new range of condition monitoring products for use in industrial and avionic applications. There is a requirement to support, develop and maintain an established range of existing fielded products. The successful candidate will be qualified to HND/degree level in engineering/electronics, or a related discipline, and have a broad range of experience in the development of complex project management systems. Experience of working in a design environment, such as military or aerospace, that employs a robust approach to product development activity would be advantageous. The role will involve working as a member of a multi-disciplinary product development team, ensuring that project development activities are co-ordinated efficiently and effectively throughout the entire development life cycle.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure that product development activity is completed within the required project budget and timeframe.
- Ensure compliance with the NPI (New Product Introduction) process, and ensure effective engagement/communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate product development activities through a multi-disciplinary engineering team, and to provide cross department assistance and support, enabling the effective manufacture and ongoing support of developed products.
- Undertake direct management of selected projects, as required, and generate and review Project Review Reports.
- Identify and implement process and productivity improvements.
- Assist in the generation and review of bids and proposals.
- Work closely with the Engineering Management Team to ensure that project and business-wide targets are met.
- Contribute towards the continual improvement of working practices and methods.
