Software Engineer

An opportunity exists for a Software Engineer in the Engineering Department to design, document and implement software solutions for products running on MS Windows based platforms. Working closely with the Engineering Team, the Software Engineer will be expected to achieve a high quality standard, working to achieve time targets, specification and balance costs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and development of new and existing MS Windows basd products from the requirements stage through to product validation.
  • Design, development and implementation of enhancements to existing Industrial and Aerospace products.
  • Work with the engineering team to develop and continually improve the design life cycle processes for software development.
  • Assist the engineering, operations and sales teams with the development and maintenance of existing software products.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors and customers.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Management Team to ensure that project and business-wide targets are met.
  • Contribute towards the continual improvement of working practices and methods.

Experience

Must have:

  • Qualifications in Microsoft Visual Studio .Net, Visual Basic .Net, Managed C++ .Net and C#.
  • Excellent knowledge of C++ and Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) to enable support of existing products.
  • Knowledge of standard QA processes.
  • Requirements analysis and UML modeling.
  • Knowledge of unit testing.
  • Technical authoring of documents required by the design life cycle.

Desirable:

  • Database design and implementation using Microsoft SQL server.
  • Knowledge of WiX and InstallShield.
